Who runs the sites
michelelaurelli.it and blog.michelelaurelli.it are run by Michele Laurelli, based in Savona, Italy. For any communication about these terms, write to ciao@michelelaurelli.it.
By using the sites you accept these terms. They are meant to be reasonable: if something is unclear, ask me before assuming an interpretation.
Nature of the content
Articles, the glossary, project pages and published materials are for information and education. They express my opinion, or that of guest authors, at the time of publication.
Artificial intelligence moves fast: figures, products, prices and rules cited may no longer be current. Every article shows its publication date for exactly this reason. The content does not replace technical, legal, financial or other advice on a specific case.
I do my best to make sure the information is accurate and checked. If you spot a mistake, let me know: I will gladly fix it and, if relevant, note it in the article.
Intellectual property
The texts, graphics, illustrations, 3D models, animations, original sounds and code of the sites belong to Michele Laurelli or their respective authors and are protected by Italian copyright law (Law 633/1941). In detail:
- guest articles remain the property of their authors, who granted permission to publish them on the blog;
- the blog's cover photos come from Unsplash and are used under the Unsplash License;
- the books shown are published by their respective publishers, who hold the publishing rights;
- scientific papers are distributed under the licence shown on their publication page;
- the site's sound design is by HM Surf.
Names, trademarks and logos of companies, clients, publications and products belong to their owners. I show them only to indicate collaborations, projects or articles about me: their presence does not imply that those organisations endorse the content of the sites.
What you can do with the content
Yes, freely
- Read, print or save pages for personal use.
- Share links on social media, newsletters, chats and websites.
- Quote short excerpts for comment, criticism, study or discussion, with my name (or the author's) and a link to the original, as allowed by article 70 of Italian copyright law.
- Use the content in teaching or research, citing the source.
Only with my written permission
- Republish whole articles or large parts of them, including translations.
- Use texts, images or graphics for commercial purposes.
- Copy or adapt the design, 3D models or code of the site.
- Extract content systematically with automated tools.
Under article 70-quater of Italian copyright law, implementing article 4 of Directive (EU) 2019/790, I expressly reserve text and data mining of the sites' content for commercial purposes, including the training of artificial intelligence models. The exceptions provided by law for scientific research remain unaffected. For licensing requests write to ciao@michelelaurelli.it: I always reply.
Contact and professional requests
The contact form is a way to start a conversation. A message sent through the site, and my reply, are not an offer or a contract: every collaboration, consultancy, teaching or speaking engagement is set out in a separate written agreement covering scope, timing, fees and confidentiality.
Please do not send confidential information or trade secrets through the form. If explaining your project requires sensitive details, we can sign a non-disclosure agreement first.
Fair use of the sites
By using the sites you agree not to:
- attempt to access non-public areas, servers or systems, or compromise their security;
- overload the sites with massive automated requests or bypass technical protection measures;
- use the contact form to send spam, unlawful or offensive content, or malicious code;
- impersonate someone else or submit other people's data without authorisation.
Links to other sites
The sites contain links to external pages, such as sources, publications, publishers and social profiles. I choose them carefully, but I do not control those sites and am not responsible for their content, availability or the way they handle data. You are free to link to my pages, provided the link does not suggest a relationship or endorsement that does not exist.
Warranties and liability
The sites are offered as they are, free of charge. I strive to keep them working, secure and up to date, but I cannot guarantee that they will always be available, error-free or compatible with every device. I may change, suspend or close them at any time.
To the extent permitted by law, I am not liable for damages arising from the use of the sites or from reliance on the information published, except in cases of wilful misconduct or gross negligence (article 1229 of the Italian Civil Code). This limitation does not apply where the law excludes it, in particular to protect consumers.
Reports and takedown requests
If you believe some content infringes one of your rights, for example copyright, image rights or privacy, or contains a mistake, write to ciao@michelelaurelli.it stating the page, the content and the reason. I review every report carefully and reply promptly, removing or correcting the content when the request is well founded.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Italian law. The Court of Savona has jurisdiction over any dispute, unless you are a consumer: in that case the court of your place of residence has jurisdiction, as provided by article 66-bis of the Italian Consumer Code, and the mandatory protections of the law of your country of residence remain unaffected.
Before anything else, please write to me: most problems can be solved with an email.
Changes to these terms
I may update these terms when the sites or the rules change. The version in force is always the one published here, with the update date at the top. If any clause turns out to be invalid, the others remain in effect.
